There are many legends about the origin of lilies. It is believed that in ancient Greece Lily was attributed to Hera, Queen of Heaven, Guardian of marriage and offspring.

Legend says, that after a few drops of her milk spilled on the universe they formed a Milky Way, and the remaining drops that fell on the Earth made white lilies.

In Christianity, legend  says white lilies sprung up on the spot where Jesus' tears and sweat dripped in the last moments of his life. Lily Flower is often mentioned in scripture

The most widespread is the belief that the white lily is Mary's flower, symbolizing her innocence and virginity. It's frequent motif of the Annunciation depiction, often given to Mary by the Archangel Gabriel, symbolizing her purity and virginity

Flower Symbolism: White Lily is also a symbol of beauty, happiness, salvation and immortality. It is a flower featured in weddings. According to legend, brides in ancient Greece, wore them on the wedding crowns, along with wheat ears.

Oriental Hybrid Lily, used in our shop were developed from only a few species native to Japan. They are heavily scented, with much larger flowers, and bloom later than most other types of Lilium. Many Oriental lilies have raised papillae in the petal nectaries. This "starfish-looking" characteristic will, at times, have yellow or crimson accents.

Anyway, pay attention if you are dreaming of white lilies, they are indicating wedding, happiness and prosperity in life.
