Shortage of flowers

Never believed I will be uttering words: "We are experiencing shortage of flowers", yet here we are.
This is a very short tale of two hurricanes: Harvey and Irma. (admit it, now you're also thinking about the couple married for 75 years.) Anyway, with Houston flooded in catastrophic floods, we were unable to receive flowers for a while. Just when we started to get our staff sorted out, and looking forward to receiving flowers again, hurricane Irma made its way toward Florida. Here is a fun fact: Miami airport is the main hub for flowers in the US. So we have nothing better to do but sit and wait (and apologize as to why we do not have the exact flowers you wanted).
Perhaps, this is a great opportunity to let your florist be creative and make you the best looking arrangement for the occasion.
On the other hand, this is also a great opportunity for our city and state officials to consider the unique geographical position of Houston, TX and invest not only in creating Houston airport(s) a great hub for floral product, but also to consider promoting flowers as an agricultural product in this great state. We have some great areas in Texas that can grow superb flowers almost year around - and while California, Florida, Oregon, Washington and even Alaska have recognized the opportunity and invested in it, Texas did not (yet).
